Manifestos abound; critiques on manifestos as well. Manifestos against poverty and in favor of the good society are often called utopian and idealist. A manifesto on poverty turns easily into the poverty of a manifesto. But writing a manifesto and bringing down one is an ambivalent affair, as can be seen in the case of Karl Marx, one of its fierce critics who has nevertheless written one of the most influential manifestos. Let's hope that this manifesto will get the same reception, because it includes interesting ideas and some proposals.
